Junsi iCharger 4512DUO

Product description and features

  • Latest synchronous buck-boost technology for maximum power up to 2800W, for 1-12s LiXx
  • DUO charger with 2 equivalent charging outputs, each with max. 2000W / total 2800W, input voltage 12-53V
  • USB-C port with PD (Power Delivery) for charging the latest smartphones etc. 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A
  • Micro SD slot for data logging // Integrated servo tester // Channel 1 can be used as a power supply unit 2V-50V, 1A-45A
  • Balancer current 4A total (2A per output) Discharge power 200W total, 130W per channel

With the new iCharger 4512DUO, the renowned manufacturer Junsi has completely modernised the technology of the well-known 4010DUO charger.

The 4512DUO combines the advantages of the well-known Junsi iCharger 4010DUO with the latest technology and therefore offers significantly more power and new functions.
The two charging outputs are equipped with high-current-resistant XT90 plugs in order to be able to transmit the power permanently.

To achieve a charging capacity of 2800W, you need a power supply unit >40V, 1-12s LiXx cells and up to 45A charging current is also sufficient for large batteries with high capacity. Of course, all other battery types such as LiHV, LiIo, NiZn, PB, NiCd or NiMh batteries can also be charged.

The discharge capacity is 200 watts in total (130 watts per output if only one output is used), but can be increased to up to 2800 watts using an external load (discharge resistor). Of course, the iCharger 4512DUO is also capable of regenerative charging. This means that battery capacity is fed back into the supply battery from a full flight battery, for example.

The balancer current of 4 amps in total (2 amps per output) always ensures perfectly equalised cell voltages.

A USB-C PD port for charging smartphones etc. (5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A) or for software updates is also integrated. The micro SD slot can be used for data storage but also for future updates.

A new feature is the "Digital Power" function, where one output can be used as a stabilised power supply unit. The output voltage can be set from 2V to 50V, the current from 1A-45A (please note that an appropriate power supply must be available! )

A servo tester is also integrated, please note that an external power supply is required!

The menu navigation is almost identical to the familiar Junsi iCharger 3XXDUO, 45X DUO or 4010DUO.

A 2.8" IPS LCD display ensures good readability even in difficult lighting conditions.

Instructions in English are included with the charger in the form of a CD, the German version can be found under the Download tab.

All Junsi chargers in the X and DUO series have been developed and approved for use in modelling. Industrial use is not intended and therefore not permitted! All Junsi chargers may only be operated with power supply units that have been developed for modelling! AGM batteries must not be charged in the PB programme!

Note

To be able to charge 12s, a 13-pin XH connector is required on the battery! There is NO balancer board supplied to be able to charge e.g. 2x6s as 12! (CB-12XH/EH)

If 10s are used as 2x 5s, the familiar CB-1010 can be used with the 11-11 wire!

Charging a 12S battery with 2 balancer plugs

Sie benötigen dazu eine Platine mit einem passenden Anschlusskabel für die Batterie und das Ladegerät. Dabei ist folgende Reihenfolge unbedingt einzuhalten:

  • First connect the charger to the mains adapter or a supply battery. If you are using a mains adapter, switch it on first.
Caution! Do not connect the batteries to the charger until they are correctly connected to the balancer board!
  • First insert the first balancing plug of cells 1 - 6 "battery negative side, black cable" from the negative side into the corresponding 6S slot on the circuit board,
  • Then plug the second balancing plug of cells 6-12 into the second slot 6S from the positive side "battery positive side, red cable". Now connect the charger. If it has not flashed and smoked by then, you have done everything right!
    - Now connect the thick red main charging cable "+" of the battery to the charger, followed by the thick black main charging cable "-".

Avoid short circuits, otherwise there is a risk of injury! The sequence described also applies to charging several batteries in series! You are responsible for damage and defects caused by non-compliance!
